The Saints have made yet another splash signing this offseason by signing former Dolphins and Browns wide receiver Jarvis Landry Friday morning. The Saints have now signed both Saftey Tyrann Mathieu and now Jarvis Landry in free agency post draft. Landry is coming off his worst season to date in 2021 only compiling a measly 520 yards and 2 touchdowns on 52 receptions through 12 games with the Browns. Landry entering his ninth year in the NFL could still have some left in the tank to help out a now loaded New Orleans receiver unit.
Landry joins fellow veteran and former all pro Michael Thomas and rookie Chris Olave in the big easy. The weapons are surely being placed around Jameis Winston who may be playing for his job in 2022. Winston had a rather good start to the season last year until an injury cut things short. If he can stay healthy there is no doubt that he will have the weapons to hopefully compete with the likes of Tampa Bay in the NFC South. The details of the contract have yet to be disclosed but be certain that the Saints are getting a discount from the 16 million dollars a year that the Browns were paying Landry towards the end of his tenure in Cleveland.
