Las Vegas Raiders sign veteran WR Keelan Cole

It seems that the Raiders are not done bolstering their wide receiver room this off-season after adding Devante Adams a few weeks back. The team announced Thursday that they have signed veteran WR Keelan Cole and released back up quarterback Garrett Gilbert. Cole has been in the NFL for five seasons and isn't a splash player to say the least. Cole has played for both the Jets and most notably for the Jaguars the first four years of his career. While with the Jags he would receive for roughly 2200 yards and 12 touchdowns in those four years with the team however was released following his rookie contract.

2021 was a rather down year for the crafty veteran as he spent the one sole season with the lack luster New York Jets and would only pile up 449 yards and 1 touchdown all while starting in 11 out of 15 games. It's too early to tell if he will make any splash with the Raiders who already have crowded air space in Las Vegas distributing the ball to the likes of Devante Adams, Hunter Renfrow, Bryan Edwards, Demarcus Robinson, and Darren Waller. If Cole can carve out a foot hold in this offense that just adds to the bag of weapons at Derek Carr's disposal however at this moment Keelan Cole may be fighting more for a roster spot than any sort of role in this potent offense.
